The official statement, signed by Bird Studio and Capsule Corporation Tokyo Co., Ltd., and posted on X (formerly Twitter), read: "Dear friends and associates, We are deeply saddened to inform you that manga author Akira Toriyama passed away on March 1st due to an acute subdural hematoma. He was 68 years old.
